July Blog Update 26'
Hello y'all readers. I was rather quiet lately. After I finished my campaign of Troika! x Barkeep on the Borderlands I was a player in a few one-shot adventures in Cy_Borg of one of the other players in the group. I don't have much to say about Cy_Borg besides that I don't really like all borg-like systems. I had fun though, because I played as this kind of ex-gladiator with huge sword and I rolled max HP and bonuses, so my character had 12 HP, 1 HP more than the other three characters combined. Adding to it d12 Zweihander it fulfilled a fantasy of being this huge tough badass warrior better than any other OSR system or actually any system I played in. It doesn't help that I usually gamemaster and don't play often, hah.
Aside of that I stopped taking part in RPG Blog Carnival. After a guy from Turning Point USA became a host I decided to pull out for good. I don't have the time and energy to screen every person within it. And Gay Beholder Blog Fiesta although becoming my most viewed post ever didn't bring much echo.
And so most of both external and internal push to publish went away I didn't post that much. But currently I started GMing Band of Blades which means I'd probably keep Legion's Annals here on the blog. I gotta translate them and prepare them well first, I also blew some rules on first mission (and second kinda too). I might also spill some ideas of my own in regards to Chosen, Broken and potential ideas for continuation of the campaign considering it probably won't ever be published.
Things I'm idling away in the background:
Blades in the Sand - my spin on Blades in the Dark that plays out in a world ravaged by destructive sun. Currently I'm tinkering with the city in which it could take place, I also thought of expanding it to be about these huge tanks-ships of the desert and a crew maintaining one and traveling from place to place. Like a planet-bound Scum & Villainy.
Warhameller - I thought of maybe going back to running in the future something akin to Warhammer Fantasy but I got allergic to most iteration of this game, even Warlock didn't jive well with me when I tried it. So I thought of merging it a bit with Traveller and writing some of my own lore and gods inspired by Band of Blades, Warhammer Fantasy, Fear and Hunger and other stuff. It might be the new iteration of Sword of Don.
Traveller - I'm still breaking my head over Traveller, looking to optimise, streamline and translate it so I could play it with my group. It is work in progress, currently I'm dabbling in equipment and starships and it is not easy stuff.
other projects: I still think Maus in the Park might happen but I lost my heart for it at the moment. Turns out merging FitD with OSRish gameplay is not as easy as I thought, also I'm terrible managing my own projects. Blades of the Nephrite which is my spin on Vigilante crew in Tianxia/Jadepunk inspired city is also on hold, still lingering somewhere in the back of my mind.
potential future campaign I'll might run is Wolves Upon the Coast, I am not well and I bought it for myself. I admit reading it and becoming familiar with it was fun in itself but feels like a hell to prepare to run it.
That's all folks.
